Marama Shell Craft Fiji
Pacific Island Social Enterprise | Mother of Pearl Artisans
A collaborative project between the Ba Women's Forum (BWF) and the University of the Sunshine Coast funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). All organisations believe in alleviating poverty through sustainable development initiatives and livelihood projects.
Marama Shell Craft Fiji (MSF) is dedicated to improving the lives of remote and regional village communities by producing shell craft jewellery and handicraft items.
Each piece is lovingly hand crafted at our workshop in Ba, on the island of Viti Levu Fiji and made from Mother of Pearl Shell (Pinctada margaritifera) which is sustainably farmed by communities across the Pacific Islands of Fiji. Intricate Artisan techniques coupled with contemporary styling is embraced; with all designs to certify ‘Fijian-Made’ authenticity and accreditation.
By supporting a livelihoods project; YOU TOO can also play a significant role in partnering with us to develop a grass roots economy in Fiji. This initiative ensures Women (Marama; Fijian Translation) are empowered to have a stronger voice in their community.
Mother of Pearl | Polished for Impact.
